The Sacramento River below Lake Shasta is open year 'round. The lowest annual flows are actually in the months of March, April, September and October. Mid-winter and early spring fishing can be superb depending on the weather. Fall fishing is a phenomena of its own. This river is one of the true trophy trout rivers in the U.S.
